Splendid Isolation is an animation triptych done in traditional puppet animation technique. With uneven durations of about 90 seconds for each, the projections run in a loop without synchronisation. The loose story is structured to depict the same character in three different locations on each projection. The central projection shows the protagonist caring for plants in the greenhouse, while the two other projections offer alternative storylines. As the length of the projections are not even, the animations coincided at different points in each cycle. This work uses the cyclical narrative structure to play with the idea of constantly displacing the cause and effect relationship, offering a number of different experiences in each cycle.
